Mike’s background is steeped in adventure and safety. As a trained Mountain Bike Leader, certified in British Canoeing Paddle Sports Safety and Rescue, and an RYA Powerboat Instructor, he combines technical expertise with a hands-on approach to outdoor activities. His military service instilled a strong sense of discipline, preparation, and leadership—qualities that now underpin every Adventure Safe experience.
Adding to his wealth of knowledge, Mike served as a Forest Ranger in the stunning woodlands of North Yorkshire. Having been hands-on in rescue situations through all seasons, he brings vital expertise in handling emergencies in challenging outdoor environments. This invaluable experience shapes his approach to ensuring safety during every adventure.
Mike is also a qualified Adult Life Long Learning instructor, with years of experience teaching and inspiring adventurers of all ages. Whether it’s navigating trails or ensuring safety in challenging environments, Adventure Safe empowers you with the skills to explore the outdoors confidently and responsibly.
Our Approach to Training
Choosing Adventure Safe means learning from instructors who possess extensive, practical experience not only in first aid but also in the very outdoor activities you enjoy. Backed by active, real-world experience in the UK blue light services, our team holds high-level credentials, including the Immediate Emergency Care (IEC) and Band 4 Advanced Outdoors First Aid qualifications.
Our training is deeply rooted in the practical challenges encountered when adventuring in environments like the North York Moors, focusing on realistic, hands-on scenarios rather than dry theory alone. We believe in building genuine confidence, equipping you with effective incident management skills specifically adapted for remote settings where help may not be close at hand.
